What Matters NOW
I was born a poor  white girl-child in Mississippi tho I didn't know it would matter at the time.
Making mud pies, shucking corn for rainbow caterpillars, and playing in thunderstorms kept us busy and happy
during the day.
Catching lightening bugs, chasing the 'fog' truck with all the neighbor kids,  and playing hide-and-go-seek in the
evenings was heaven.
I palled around with Frisky, the dog that
just showed up one day and then just disappeared a few years later.
Quiet time was spent on the branches of my friend, the Pecan tree.
It was a good childhood but I knew something was not quite right with most of the grown ups.
